CHESS and Northern Regional Hospital announce value-based care collaboration

Mount Airy – Northern Regional Hospital and CHESS, a health care services company based in High Point, announce a new collaboration to deliver high quality, coordinated health care to Northern Regional Hospital patients.

Northern Regional Hospital and CHESS will work together to care for patients through a value-based care model. This model will benefit a provider for improving the quality of care and patient health outcomes, while lowering the cost of care through prevention, innovation, care coordination, waste reduction and information sharing.

“As a nationally-recognized provider of quality, safe care, Northern Regional Hospital is pleased to partner with CHESS to further enhance our clinical outcomes with a proven value-based model that aligns fully with our patient-focused approach to care,” said Robin H. Hodgin, BSN, MHA, Vice President for Patient Services & Chief Nursing Officer.   “We look forward to embracing a value-based system that permits us to further improve our patient-care protocols and services while lowering costs.”

”CHESS is thrilled to be partnering with Northern Regional Hospital because of its outstanding reputation for clinical excellence and patient satisfaction,” says Yates Lennon, MD, interim president and chief transformation officer for CHESS.   “This collaboration is a win-win for everyone involved, especially the patient populations served by Northern Regional Hospital – including the northwest Piedmont region of North Carolina and neighboring counties in southwest Virginia.”

CHESS has assisted a number of health systems in making the transformation to value by implementing innovative care models and establishing value-based contracts with insurance carriers. CHESS’ value partners include Catawba Valley Medical Group, Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, AdventHealth Hendersonville, and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
